"Blackjack is the only casino game
an amateur can learn to play and
at which he can definitely win."
Blackjack betting strategies can be very simple or very complex. And you try whatever
makes sense to you first. If that doesn't work try something else. As we've said before,
winning at blackjack takes practice. It doesn't happen right away. You learn by playing.
One simple betting strategy states that you double your bet on every hand. You start
the first hand with your minimum bet, perhaps $2. On the next hand, you bet $4. Then
$8 on the next hand, and so on.
You stop doubling and start over with your minimum bet when one of two things occurs.
When you win a hand or after you lose 5 hands. This strategy minimizes your losses and
gives you the opportunity to win over time. But it does take time to see profits
accumulate.
Just make sure you don't increase your bets to make up for your losses. This is sure
recipe for disaster. You'll almost certainly lose more money by doing that.
It may be more important to focus on card strategies
than betting strategies. It's important to know what to do with your cards when you're
playing blackjack.
